Job summary

Jefferson Southern Corp in Rockmart, GA is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to direct shift technicians, troubleshoot complex automation and robotic systems, mentor junior staff, and ensure preventive maintenance tasks are completed and logged in the CMMS.

The role requires 2+ years hands-on maintenance experience in a high-volume manufacturing setting, informal leadership, and strong PLC/troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Proven informal leadership: experience as go-to tech, shift lead, or mentor.
• Advanced troubleshooting: reading electrical schematics, fluid power testing, ladder logic.
• Systems competency: CMMS logging and basic MS Excel/Outlook usage.
• Welding operations and welding systems repair experience.
• Industrial robotics: basic teaching and troubleshooting (FANUC, Nachi, Yaskawa).
• Exposure to Tier 1 automotive plant safety and uptime pressures (IATF 16949 environment).

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily work assignments for shift technicians and serve as point-of-contact for production supervisors when equipment issues arise.
• Lead from the front to diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic system failures.
• Coach and upskill junior technicians on automation, safety standards, and efficient troubleshooting techniques.
• Ensure preventive maintenance tasks are completed thoroughly during the shift and tracked in the CMMS.
• Lead immediate troubleshooting responses to recurring faults and provide detailed handover notes for engineering and supervisor teams.
• Enforce Lockout/Tagout, arc flash rules, and PPE requirements across the shift.

Description

First-Response Root Cause: Lead immediate troubleshooting response to recurring faults and provide detailed handover notes for engineering and supervisor teams.
Safety Champion: Enforce strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, arc flash rules, and PPE requirements across the shift crew.

2+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Proven informal leadership: Experience acting as a go-to tech, shift lead, or training junior peers.
Advanced troubleshooting: Strong capability in reading electrical schematics, testing fluid power systems, and interpreting ladder logic.
Systems competency: Familiarity with logging work orders in a CMMS and basic communication via MS Excel/Outlook.
Weld Assembly Operations
Industrial Robotics: Basic teaching and troubleshooting (FANUC, Nachi, Yaskawa, etc.).
Welding systems: Repairing resistance spot welding guns, mid-frequency direct current (MFDC) controllers, and proximity sensors.
Interfacing with HMIs and automated weld cells.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or automation electronics.
Exposure to Mitsubishi and/or Omron PLC diagnostics (online monitoring/fault tracing).
Familiarity with Tier 1 automotive plant safety and uptime pressures (IATF 16949 environment).
