We are actively seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to join our Robotic Weld Maintenance Department on 2nd Shift (core schedule, Monday through Thursday 4:00 pm to 12:30 am; and Friday 3:30 pm to 12:00 am)

Job Summary:
  • 1. Role: Support production in meeting daily requirements by repairing and improving production equipment.
  • 2. Responsibilities: Preventative maintenance coordination, predictive maintenance coordination, daily manpower assignments, equipment repairs and improvements, technician training, Safety/PPE, spare parts, work area organization, programmable device recording and quality index
  • 3. Job Description:
    • Safety:
      • Monitor and enforce all safety policies and procedures of all associates at JIC.
      • Identify violations and correct as needed
      • Fill out appropriate paper work when a safety incident occurs. Report all incidents to department manager. Lead investigation to determine root cause and develop countermeasure
      • Monitor and enforce 5S within the maintenance department. All technicians work areas including their tool box should be free from clutter. Maintenance area should be checked on a daily basis.
    • Quality:
      • Lead investigation into quality related incidents, internally and externally, determine root cause and develop counter measure. Implement horizontally if possible.
      • Identify weak equipment design and develop improvements to reduce quality related incidents. This may involve KGZ activities. KGZ is missing, mis-set, or wrong part.
      • Investigate and implement new technology for part detection and sensing
    • Cost:
      • Monitor spare part usage, identify high usage items and research alternatives to reduce cost.
      • Monitor monthly sensor usage. Investigate sensor failures and develop countermeasures.
      • Verify needed spare parts are on hand. Assist technicians with ordering necessary spare parts. This should involve obtaining part numbers, quotes, etc.
    • Delivery:
      • Lead and maintain dry ice program. Verify dry ice is on hand when needed
      • Lead and maintain robot greasing program. Verify need materials are on hand when needed.
      • Lead and maintain Preventative Maintenance program. Perform PM Completion rate analysis on a monthly basis.
      • Lead and maintain Robot program back up program. Robot program back ups should be taken 1/yr or any time engineering adds equipment or a model to a line. Should also be done within 60 days of receiving a new line.
    • Management:
      • Daily walk through weld shop. Communicate items from department shift note to all technicians. Assign tasks, follow up and work orders. Verify completion of these tasks.
      • Assist technicians with any training needed to maintain technician’s skill and knowledge to make necessary equipment repairs and improvements
      • Perform technician evaluations 1/yr. At this time should also review Maintenance technician training and expectations. WI-MA-356.
      • Develop work instructions for tasks within the maintenance department.
      • Administer JIC coaching/counseling as described in company handbook
      • Fill out daily shift note at end of shift. Review 1st and 2nd shift note at beginning of shift
      • Maintain 3rd shift time sheet. Turn in to associate relations as soon as possible
      • Other duties as assigned

  • Time Management: Develop task list and assure on-time implementation of tasks.
  • Computer Skills: Able to operate with basic computer skills, including preparing memos and responding to email
EDUCATION, MATH, LANGUAGE AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Associate Degree or graduate of technical school in related field desired; High school diploma; Extensive related experience. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Twelve to thirty-six months related experience. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent to draw and interpret mathematical data and graphs.
