Position: Production Coordinator – Stamping Department (2nd Shift, Monday–Friday 2:00pm–10:30pm)

Responsibilities
  • Oversee Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Management activities in the Stamping Bay, including daily operations and continuous improvement.
  • Supervise Team Leaders and production associates in the Stamping Department.
  • Assist in managing SQCDM activities, improving and stabilizing key areas, and maintaining 5S standards.
  • Assess the production floor and assist with manpower, equipment, quality, productivity, associate, and training issues.
  • Administer policy and safety procedures with associates.
  • Assign jobs to associates and provide related training.
  • Review and prioritize quality and production issues.
  • Coordinate activities with the current shift production schedule.
Safety and Quality Monitoring
  • Visually monitor PPE compliance (uniforms, steel‑toed boots, hearing protection, safety glasses, Kevlar sleeves/gloves, bump cap) and lock‑out procedures.
  • Ensure proper part handling (lifting, quantity, pushing/pulling, Kevlar sleeves/gloves) and clear work area.
  • Communicate evacuation and shelter locations; assist during emergency drills.
  • Perform visual checks of associates’ work areas—ensure aisles, dies, fixtures, and floors are clear and free of clutter.
  • Address all safety concerns and violations (e.g., lock‑out, part handling, seat belts, forklift/crane issues).
  • Confirm daily forklift and crane safety sheets are completed.
  • Obtain forklift/crane certification within six months of starting the position.
Quality
  • Understand all quality requirements and follow JIC quality procedures and work instructions.
  • Read the QA Daily Whiteboard at shift start and end; follow up on outstanding issues.
  • Use start‑up meetings to communicate whiteboard issues to associates.
  • Verify that quality part checks and gap/accuracy checks are completed on time; assist when needed.
  • Contact Quality Tech or Coordinator when issues arise.
  • Sign off on completed sort result sheets for verification of inspected parts (good/bad counts and reasons).
  • Lead containment activities and communicate with Assistant Manager and Quality leadership.
  • Confirm daily operator start‑up check sheets are completed in PLEX and follow SNAP procedure for abnormalities.
  • Verify completion of non‑200% rework and proper part inspection.
  • Maintain tool readiness (mics, GO/NO‑GO gauges, pins, fixtures).
  • Investigate and complete all customer trouble reports by the due date; overtime may be required if not completed.
Cost
  • Maintain scrap and rework parts throughout the bay.
  • Ensure production meets daily schedule and line/customer demands.
  • Minimize overtime and aim for presses running within fifteen minutes of shift start.
  • Conduct monthly Gripper Audits; contact Press Maintenance as needed.
Delivery
  • Troubleshoot general maintenance on presses (finger adjust/repair, die changes, destack feeder, mis‑feed issues, material flatness).
  • Verify actual production against the Detailed Production History Report and investigate discrepancies.
  • Monitor labeling procedures for racks and baskets (R/L placards, highlighters).
  • Ensure correct packaging method according to part operation standards.
  • Keep presses running at or above planned SPM.
  • Monitor die changes and seek improvement in change time/efficiency.
  • Create a plan for non‑200% rework to complete within two days of issue detection; overtime may be required if not done.
Management
  • Notify Assistant Manager/Manager of any safety, quality, cost, or delivery incidents; investigate and countermeasure the root cause.
  • Conduct daily start‑up meetings with all associates in the bay.
  • Adjust daily manpower in the bay based on attendance and production needs.
  • Communicate with all departments as production issues arise.
  • Report downtime longer than 20 minutes to Assistant Manager.
  • Ensure daily scheduled 5S is completed.
  • Maintain communication with the opposite shift via shift notes and email.
  • Support new model activities (lead die trials, verify paperwork).
  • Complete Team Leader evaluations as scheduled and conduct coaching/counseling with associates when needed.
  • Follow environmental and quality policy and work instructions.
  • Verify presses are properly set‑up for the following shift at day’s end.
  • Assist in verifying PLEX cycle counts (if applicable).
  • Ensure associates understand downtime input, production entry in PLEX, and tagging procedures.
