Job summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure, a CRH company, is seeking a welding supervisor to oversee the Manual Welding Department in an industrial setting, ensuring safe, on-time production. You will schedule jobs, monitor progress, mentor welders, coordinate with maintenance and material handlers, and lead shift start/end meetings.

2–3 years in steel fabrication and strong communication are required; a high school diploma or equivalent is needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in steel fabrication, preferably 2–3 years.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lead by example and build effective teams.
• Ability to operate under pressure, meet deadlines, prioritize workload and multi-task.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Able to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate welding jobs with Production Supervisor.
• Ensure welders follow Inwesco policies and procedures while maintaining safety and quality.
• Track daily work orders and input data into the program.
• Coordinate with material handler to ensure components are available.
• Maintain open communication with Production Supervisor regarding production issues.
• Lead start-of-shift huddles and assign tasks to shift personnel.
• Conduct end-of-shift meetings to hand over critical information.
• Report safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to maintenance.
• Ensure shift meets safety, quality and production targets.
• Enforce safety rules and keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Encourage maximum shift production flow while ensuring safety and quality.
• Complete production reports at shift end.

Job Summary

Performs a wide range of duties in an industrial manufacturing environment. Ensuring the Manual Welding Department runs the jobs in the manner needed to meet our customer demands.

Job Responsibilities

• Schedule and Coordinate jobs accordingly while communicating with Production Supervisor
• Ensure that welders adhere to Inwesco Policies and Procedures while maintaining a level of safety and quality
• Track work order progress daily and input data needed into program
• Coordinate with material handler to make sure that all components needed are there and accounted for
• Maintain open communication with Production Supervisor regarding any production issues that would impact workflow, material, personnel and anything related to the department
• Complete beginning of shift huddles to go over safety information, announcements, any necessary information from beginning shift meeting and assign tasks to shift personnel
• Complete beginning of shift/end of shift meetings with prior shift/next shift to receive and pass on any critical production/quality/machine information
• Report to maintenance and safety coordinator any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions/required maintenance
• Ensure that work effort is being applied effectively and that company quality standards and production capacities for the shift are met
• Enforce Safety rules and ensure work areas are maintained in a clean and orderly condition
• Encourages and leads maximum shift production flow, while ensuring safety and quality
• Complete production reports at the end of the shift, including work performed by department, back orders, and hot item
• Other duties may be assigned as needed

Job Requirements

• Must have experience in steel fabrication, at least 2-3 year is preferred
• High school diploma/equivalent
• Ability to lead by example and build effective teams
• Able to operate under pressure, meet strict deadlines, effectively prioritize workload and capacity to multi-task
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
