Qualifications

  • Samples, inspects, tests, reviews, and reports on a variety of materials for maintenance and construction projects.
  • Materials used on KDOT projects must meet the specifications for those projects.
  • Uses KDOT, ASTM, AWS, AASHTO, and SSPC specifications, as well as industry standards, to evaluate structural steel fabrication.
  • Non-destructive testing may be performed as required.

Responsibilities

  • Fabrication inspection and/or testing of structural steel per applicable specs.
  • Inspects and accepts structural steel products to ensure long-term performance.
  • Monitor and apply relevant standards (KDOT, ASTM, AWS, AASHTO, SSPC) during inspections.
