Job summary

Ironworksweldinginc in Dickinson, ND seeks a skilled welder/fabricator to perform high-quality cuts and welds on gates, vessels, cattle guards, and structural steel assemblies. Work from drawings, weld procedures, and fabrication schematics.

Responsibilities include preparing joints, welding in multiple positions, fitting pipe spools, and supporting hydrostatic and nondestructive testing as needed. Must pass a weld test and read measurements accurately.

Qualifications

• Reading blueprints and drawings; interpret weld symbols and tolerances.
• Must pass a weld test and demonstrate basic measurement ability.
• Physically able to stand, lift up to 75 lbs, and perform repetitive welding tasks in a shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, fit-up and weld pressure vessels, structural steel assemblies, gates, cattle guards, etc.
• Prepare weld joints to proper dimensions, including grinding, gouging and cleaning to ensure sound weld quality
• Weld structural and process piping in multiple positions
• Fit and tack pipe spools, install flanges, elbows, tees, and other fittings per drawings
• Fabricate and weld structural steel assemblies including frames, skids, platforms, ladders, handrails, brackets and supports
• Perform fit-up and assembly of structural members using squares, levels, clamps and fixtures to ensure dimensional accuracy
• Support hydrostatic testing pneumatic testing and NDE activities as required
• Perform visual weld inspections and dimensional checks on completed work prior to QC inspection
• Maintain welder qualification records and perform continuity welds as required to keep qualification current
• Cleans and maintains work areas, tools and equipment at the end of each shift, maintains a safe, organized shop environment
• Comply with all safety policies, codes and regulations to protect the safety and health of all employees
• Follow directions of the Supervisor
• Arrive for work before your scheduled shift, prepared and ready to start work
• Other job duties, as assigned by management
