Job summary

GenMet is seeking a Weld Engineer to support welding and fabrication processes, drive continuous improvement, and analyze customer drawings to develop fabrication requirements in SolidWorks. The role collaborates with Sales, Estimating, Customer Service, Purchasing and Operations to ensure on-time delivery of quality engineered information and parts.

Qualifications include an Associate's Degree in Mechanical Drafting or related field and 3–5 years welding/fabrication experience; proficiency in

Customer-focused team member with unquestionable ethics.
Associate's Degree in Mechanical Drafting or related field preferred.
3–5 years welding or fabrication experience preferred; continuous improvement/cost-saving background desirable.
Knowledge of AWS Certified Weld Inspector/Instructor (CWI) desired.
Proficient in SolidWorks; able to use CAD software.

Responsibilities

Provide information and tools to production to fabricate and assure part quality.
Proactively pursue opportunities and resolve issues.
Support welding, robotic welding, laser cutting, and inspection equipment programming.
Review customer information to create fabrication requirements and drawings in SolidWorks.
Ensure compliance with quality standards and maintain a safe work environment.
