Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science/Metallurgical Engineering, or related field.
• Typically 4–7 years of welding/joining or process engineering in high‑purity/high‑precision industries.
• Experience developing and qualifying WPS/PQR documentation and leading welder qualification programs.
• Experience with orbital and manual GTAW welding of stainless steel and exotic alloys.

Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, and document Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and PQRs for orbital GTAW, manual GTAW, and other welding processes.
• Define weld parameters for new product introductions and design changes with engineering teams.
• Lead welder qualification programs; certify welders and equipment against standards.
• Investigate weld nonconformances; perform root‑cause analysis and implement CAPA.
• Specify and review NDT/DT methods to verify weld integrity.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve weld quality issues and improve process capability.
• Support new equipment/tooling qualification for orbital welding heads and systems.
• Author and maintain welding specifications, work instructions, and training materials.
• Support cost, cycle time, and yield improvement initiatives across fabrication lines.
• Ensure compliance with ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1/D1.6, SEMI, and audits.
