Job summary

Greenberry Industrial is seeking a Weld Engineer to support structural steel, fracture-critical, heavy industrial, nuclear, and ASME fabrication operations. You will serve as the subject matter expert for welding engineering, procedures, welder qualifications, and welding code compliance.

The role develops WPS/PQR/WPQ documentation, administers WPQ programs, and collaborates with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Project Management to ensure safe, compliant fabrication throughout the project

Qualifications

• Current AWS CWI certification.
• Minimum 8 years of welding engineering, fabrication, welding quality, or related industrial experience.
• Advanced knowledge of AWS D1.1, AWS D1.5, ASME IX and AISC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Weld Engineering & Technical Leadership; act as technical authority on welding processes.
• Develop, qualify, revise, and maintain WPSs, PQRs, WPQs and welding docs.
• Develop and administer WPQ programs.
• Evaluate customer specs, drawings to determine welding requirements.
• Support bid reviews, project planning, and constructability from weld engineering.
• Provide guidance on SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, and SAW processes.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure AWS D1.1 & D1.5 program oversight.
• Review structural steel and fracture-critical fabrication for standards.
• Review and approve weld maps, sequences, fit-up, welding plans.
• Support welding procedure qualification testing; monitor essential variable compliance.
• Partner with QC to ensure welding inspections meet requirements.
• Review NDE requirements and interpret UT/MT/PT/RT/VT results.
• Participate in audits and stop-work when safety or quality at risk.
• Develop quality-related project submittals.
