Job summary

United Future is seeking a Weld Engineer to lead the welding program and support additive manufacturing initiatives. The role involves hands-on shop support, problem solving, and ensuring compliance with AWS/ASME certifications.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Weld/Metallurgical/Materials Science with welding focus and 1–3 years of experience in welding engineering or additive manufacturing research. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in building and maintaining a certified weld program.
• Understanding of physical metallurgy as it relates to welding, metalworking and heat treatment.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Weld engineering and materials science knowledge including testing, microstructure, failure analysis, and NDE.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own welding programs (AWS/ASME).
• Provide on-the-floor support to welders and engineers in welding/additive processes.
• Collaborate with QA to ensure certification readiness and improvements.
• Develop manufacturing and welding procedures; submit customer-facing procedures.
• Review welder qualifications and materials lab data to ensure quality performance.
• Represent company in industry bodies as needed.
