Job summary

Multimatic in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Weld Analyzer/Lab Technician for second shift to test production parts and ensure MIG welds meet customer specs. The role requires self-direction and minimal supervision in a hands-on environment.

Responsibilities include destructive cut & etch testing, Rockwell hardness testing, and evaluating resistance welds while maintaining detailed reports and data in Excel. Strong attention to quality and safety is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years general or field experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and write instructions and reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively in group settings and with customers/regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform Destructive Cut & Etch testing on production MIG welds.
• Perform Rockwell hardness testing as required.
• Perform destructive testing on Resistance Spot welds and Resistance Projection nuts/studs.
• Document testing procedures and results; file and maintain in-process inspection reports.
