Job summary

Oakton College is seeking an Employer Engagement Coordinator for the Workforce Equity Initiative (WEI) to connect students with local employers and raise awareness of the program. Working under the Senior Manager for Workforce Solutions, you will cultivate partnerships with industry partners and community organizations to expand opportunities for WEI participants.

This part-time, 20-hour weekly role runs Monday through Friday, 1pm to 5pm, with an hourly rate of $32.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or certification in human resources, higher education, or related field required; a master's degree preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in career/employment/talent acquisition or HR.
• Experience with diverse populations (e.g., BIPOC).

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and cultivate relationships with employers and community organizations to raise awareness of Oakton's WEI talent pipeline.
• Research job opportunities aligned with WEI training programs and student goals.
• Coordinate employer engagement activities (job fairs, resume writing, interview skills) with Career Development Center.
• Follow up with WEI completers to inform about employment opportunities and gather data on outcomes.
• Maintain employment and student data and complete quarterly reports.
• Collaborate with WEI/college staff to ensure WEI students' success.
• Facilitate other employer engagement duties as assigned.

Job Description:

The purpose of the Workforce Equity Initiative (WEI) is toaccelerate the time to enter and succeed in post-secondaryeducation/training programs that lead to employment inhigh-skilled, high-wage, and in-demand occupations with specialconsideration to Black, African-American, unemployed, and/orunderemployed residents from identified zip codes. The WEI EmployerEngagement Coordinator is responsible for activities related toemployer engagement for the purposes of bringing awareness to theWEI program and connecting students to employment post completion.This position is grant funded.

Job Description

• Under the guidance of the Senior Manager for WorkforceSolutions, identify, develop, and cultivate relationships withemployers, industry partners, and community organizations for thepurposes of increasing awareness of Oakton's WEI talentpipeline
• Research and identify job opportunities relevant to therespective WEI training programs and student career goals
• Work with internal and external partners (e.g., CareerDevelopment Center) on the coordination of employer engagement jobsearch activities (e.g., job fairs, resume writing, interviewingskills, etc.)
• Conduct consistent follow up with WEI completers to make themaware of employment opportunities, job search training activities,and to collect data with regard to employment outcomes and wages,etc.
• Maintain and track employment and student data as well ascomplete state quarterly employer engagement reports
• Work closely with all WEI/college staff on any activitydesignated to ensure the success of WEI students andcompleters
• Facilitate other employer engagement duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications and Working Conditions

• Bachelor's degree or certification in human resource, highereducation, or related field required. Master's degreepreferred.
• At least 2 years of previous experience working incareer/employment/talent acquisition services, human resources, orjob recruiter services required
• Direct experience working with and/or significant understandingof the predominant population served (e.g., BIPOC)
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability tocommunicate effectively with internal and external partners andstudents.
• Ability and/or demonstrated experience working withspreadsheets and data for the purposes of reporting
