Job summary

Altra Homecare of North Indy is seeking compassionate homecare aides to provide essential personal care to clients in their own homes across Indiana. You will promote dignity, safety, and independence while following care plans.

The role offers flexible scheduling and weekly pay; responsibilities include medication reminders, safety checks, light meals, mobility assistance, and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Possess a valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance.
• Ability to read, follow written instructions, and document care provided.
• Comply with training requirements as per State and Federal laws (training provided).
• Preferred: Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Preferred: current CPR certification.
• Preferred: current tuberculosis (TB) test.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient laundry when necessary.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Ensure patient safety.
• Report significant changes in the patient's condition directly to their supervisor.
• Prepare light meals and assist with patient feeding when required.
• Assist patients with ambulation and conduct range of motion exercises and other simple physical activities.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and adhere to care protocols.
• Follow privacy policies and infection control guidelines.
• Offer bathing assistance.
• Perform light housekeeping and provide companion services, including letter-writing and reading.
