Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Clinical Decision Unit on a part-time, weekend night schedule (12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM).

You will apply the nursing process to provide patient care under licensed supervision, coordinate with other departments, protect patient rights and confidentiality, and uphold Mercy Service Standards. A sign-on bonus up to $2,000 may be available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• LPN licensure in the hiring state and up-to-date certification requirements.
• Basic Life Support certification or completion within 30 days of hire.
• LPN-IV certification completed or within 3 months of hire for Missouri.
• Physical ability to push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care using the nursing process under supervision.

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

• SE Weekender - Licensed Practical Nurse
• Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO
• Department: Clinical Decision Unit (CDU)
• Status: Part-Time - 24hrs/week
• Shift: 12 Hour Nights - Scheduled Weekends 1900-0730

***Position may be sign-on bonus eligible up to $2,000***

Qualifications:

• Education : Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure.
• Experience : Experience preferred but not required.
• Certifications : Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri. Other unit specific certifications as required.
• Licensure : Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.
• Physical Requirements/Demands : Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
