Job summary

i9 Sports is seeking a Volleyball Official for the South Inland Empire region. As a part-time contractor, you will enforce game rules, model sportsmanship, and act as on-court coach, contributing to player and spectator experiences.

The position covers rotating seasonal venues across Eastvale, Norco, Riverside, Corona, and surrounding cities. Weekend shifts, reliable transportation, and background check are required. This role offers a game-rate compensation structure based on games worked.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of sport-specific officiating, playing, or coaching experience.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
• Willing to work weekend shifts and evenings for the full season.
• Successful completion of a National Criminal Background Check is required.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly understand and enforce the i9 Sports rulebook, ensuring a fun, educational, and safe environment for all players.
• Teach and demonstrate core concepts, including sportsmanship values.
• Set up and break down game/practice field equipment.
• Keep time and score during the game, managing an age-appropriate level of instruction and competition.
• Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and provide superior customer service.
• Assist volunteer coaches during practice sessions, conducting drills, and answering any questions they may have.

Job Summary

Regional Details

Our programs rotate seasonally to use the best facilities in the area. This position covers our South Cluster, including:

• Eastvale, Norco, Corona, Riverside, Chino Hills, and Jurupa Valley.
• Assignment locations vary by season. Reliable transportation to all cities in this cluster is required.

Responsibilities

• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and some evenings, for the full duration of the season (approximately 7 weeks).
• Must have a smartphone with internet capability.
• Successful completion of a National Criminal Background Check is required.

Payment for this position is based on a game rate structure. This means that as an independent contractor, you will be paid weekly based only on the number of games you successfully work during that period. Your total weekly compensation will be the established rate multiplied by the number of games completed; it is not a fixed salary or an hourly wage for time spent outside of game duties. This structure directly ties your earnings to your active participation in scheduled games.

Each franchised location is independently owned and operated and is solely and exclusively responsible for determining local hiring decisions, compensation, benefits, and other terms of employment.
