Job summary

Samaritas in Royal Oak, MI is hiring Youth Specialist for Saturdays and Sundays in a staff-supported girls' housing program for adolescents transitioning from foster care to independent living. This on-site role offers 3pm-11pm shifts on weekends and requires a passion for helping youth in trauma-informed settings.

You will supervise, provide emotional support, respond to crises, document incidents, and collaborate with a team to promote healing and independence.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in human services or 60 college credits or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and current auto insurance.
• Experience or interest in working with youth in high-stress environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and emotional support in a trauma-informed setting.
• Respond to crises with empathy and professionalism.
• Maintain a safe, structured environment that promotes healing and independence.
• Document observations and incidents in accordance with program standards.
