Job summary

Samaritas in Royal Oak is seeking a Youth Specialist for Saturdays and Sundays to support adolescent girls in a Staff Supported Housing program. This on-site position runs 3pm–11pm with weekend shifts, offering compassionate, trauma-informed care and daily living guidance.

Responsibilities include supervision, crisis response, record-keeping, and teamwork with the youth services team to promote healing and independence in a safe home setting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in human services or 60 college credits or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
• Experience or interest in working with youth in high-stress environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and emotional support in a trauma-informed setting.
• Respond to crises with empathy and professionalism.
• Maintain a safe, structured environment that promotes healing and independence.
• Document observations and incidents in accordance with program standards.
• Collaborate with a team dedicated to youth empowerment and recovery.
