Job summary

Samaritas in Royal Oak, MI is seeking a Youth Specialist for weekend shifts to support adolescents in a Staff Supported Boys' Housing program transitioning from foster care to independent living.

You will provide supervision, trauma-informed care, crisis response, and help youth develop living skills within a safe, structured home. A strong focus on empathy, safety, and teamwork with the care staff.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in human services or 60 college credits or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
• Experience or interest in working with youth in high-stress environments.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and emotional support in a trauma-informed setting.
• Respond to crises with empathy and professionalism.
• Maintain a safe, structured environment that promotes healing and independence.
• Document observations and incidents in accordance with program standards.
