Job summary

Carbon Health in Austin, TX is seeking an X-Ray Technician for per diem coverage. You will independently perform diagnostic imaging, position patients, and support clinicians with timely imaging to aid diagnosis. The role emphasizes weekend availability with occasional weekday shifts.

You will work with the Radiology team, uphold radiation safety, and ensure smooth clinic operations. A.A. degree, ARRT, Texas RT license, CPR/BLS are required, with additional DOT certification training offered.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
• Current CPR/BLS certificate.
• ARRT registration required.
• Texas Medical Board - RT license required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging using portable x-ray equipment.
• Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
• Apply radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
• Prepare images for reading by Radiologists.
• Assist with front desk duties to ensure optimal patient flow.
• Attend staff and departmental meetings.
• Complete DOT certification to perform Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests.
