Job summary

The Urban Ecology Center in Milwaukee is seeking a part-time Community Experience Assistant to support the Community Experience team during high visitation times at the Menomonee Valley branch. The role centers on visitor engagement, ensuring a welcoming public space, and assisting with events and open hours.

Responsibilities include keeping the space clean, stocking beverages, setting up rooms for rentals and programs, and providing backup at the reception desk.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish/English is required.
• Experience with the Urban Ecology Center or similar community programs preferred.
• Comfortable talking with new people and building connections.
• Experience using computers to complete tasks and navigate online resources.
• Reliable and able to demonstrate positive decision-making.
• Commitment to the center's mission, equity, dignity, and justice.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming public space.
• Stock beverages station and prepare coffee for visitors as needed.
• Organize resources, bulletin boards, and update signage.
• Assist with room setup for events and rentals.
• Provide back-up support at the Reception Desk when needed.
• Engage visitors and support staff during events to ensure engagement.
• Support administrative projects identified by the Community Experience team.
