Job summary

PetVet Care Centers’ Animal Emergency Center in Memphis, TN is seeking a Part-Time Weekend Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks, including cleaning, feeding, restraining patients, and clerical work. The role offers exposure to high-volume emergency cases and opportunities for skill development in a fast-paced hospital.

The position requires weekend availability, a minimum of two years' veterinary clinic experience, and a passion for compassionate animal

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position
• Minimum of two years' experience in a veterinary clinic

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients
• Greet patients and owners, take weight and vital signs, and guide to examination room
• Triage patients, assist veterinarians and licensed technicians with treatments and medications
• Calm and soothe anxious patients
• Maintain medical records and assist with lab tests, radiographs, and equipment operation
• Assist with injections, restraints, and administration of medications
• Maintain hospital cleanliness and safety, including sanitation of kennels and equipment
• Promote hospital products and services and support the organization
• Show up for work regularly; weekend availability emphasized
