PetVet Care Centers' Animal Emergency Center in Memphis, TN is seeking a Part-Time Weekend Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians through patient care, equipment sanitation, and clerical tasks in a busy ER environment during weekends and select hours.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, teamwork, and strong communication with clients. A weekend schedule is required, with potential additional shifts based on availability.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Minimum of two years' experience in a veterinary clinic.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet patients and owners, take the patient's weight and vital signs.
• Triage patients and assist with exams and medications as directed by licensed technicians.
• Calm and soothe anxious patients.
• Assist doctors and technicians with medications and patient restraint.
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs.
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment and ensure cleanliness of facilities.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Show up for work regularly; weekends requirement emphasized.
• Promote hospital products and services and support the organization.
• Respond respectfully to directions from DVM or LVT; carry out written and oral instructions.
