Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a per diem Advanced Practice Nurse (Urology NP) to collaborate with the surgical team in New Jersey. The APN will perform history and exams, order and interpret labs, manage conditions, and prescribe medications per state law.

Weekend coverage is required, with potential weekday and holiday coverage and no on-call duties. The role emphasizes patient- and family-centered care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and ongoing professional development within the HM H

Qualifications

Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and practice.
National Provider Identifier (NPI).
Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration per NJ law.
Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

Responsibilities

Performs and documents history and physical assessments appropriate for patient age and problem.
Orders, performs, and interprets labs and diagnostic studies in collaboration with physicians.
Manages medical and surgical conditions with knowledge of pharmacology and treatment options.
Prescribes medications safely following best practices and NJ regulations.
Promotes APN practice recognition through conferences and publications.
Provides patient- and family-centered care and education.
