Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin's Trauma and Acute Care Surgery program seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide weekend inpatient specialty care at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. Qualifications

• 2 years of experience required
• 3–4 years trauma/critical care/acute care experience preferred
• BLS Certification (AHA) must be current
• DEA Eligibility must be met
• Wisconsin APRN licensure if NP, or PA license if PA
• NCCPA certification for PA (if applicable)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in ICU to diagnose and treat conditions requiring surgical intervention.
• Document progress notes, orders, and transfers accurately and timely.
• Order, perform, and interpret screening and diagnostic tests and communicate results.
• Perform procedures beyond core scope as allowed by the surgical critical care service.
• Coordinate care with patients, families and staff for continuity of care.
• Attend rounds and participate in daily patient updates and discharge planning.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and performance metrics.
• Stay current with developments in APP roles and trauma/critical care guidelines.
