Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreational Therapy or related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Two or more years' experience in recreation in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and implement activity therapy programs as a component of the patient's treatment plan.
• Complete activity assessments through observation and interviews to tailor treatment plans.
• Plan and implement activities including therapeutic leisure skills, leisure education and awareness.
• Lead activity sessions to improve patients' mental and physical well-being.
• Instruct patients in activities and techniques (sports, dance, music, art or relaxation) to meet individual needs.
• Develop and implement treatment plans and activity interventions aligned with patient goals.
• Ensure safe use of leisure time and promote social skills and leisure independence.
• Adapt activities for different groups and supervise activity staff when applicable.
• Maintain a professional, empathetic attitude and address patient concerns, prioritizing safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
