Job summary

PATH in Los Angeles is hiring a Substance Use Specialist to join the Metro Rail Outreach team. You will conduct nightly street outreach at Metro stations and coordinate with housing and health services to connect clients to long-term support.

The role requires two years of direct substance use experience, a related degree, and CPR/First Aid training. This position is full-time, non-exempt, with a 24-pay-period per year schedule and weekend requirements.

Qualifications

• Two years of direct experience with substance use services.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; certification in substance use counseling preferred.
• Must have CPR/First Aid training and be able to obtain state licensing where required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nightly outreach at Metro stations and bus stops to engage clients.
• Perform VI-SPDAT assessments and document results in HMIS.
• Provide street-based case management and referrals to housing and health services.
• Coordinate with providers and law enforcement to transition clients to housing.
