Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking an Operations Support Technician to join our Bland, Virginia manufacturing and service operations.

This hands-on role supports compliance, performance improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives while using SAP CMMS to manage work orders on a daily basis. You will work on mechanical, electrical, and fabrication tasks, operate industrial equipment, read blueprints, and collaborate with a team to keep safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals on track.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, and/or fabrication tasks.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with SAP.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
• Monitor and improve performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Inventory goals.
• Promote and participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
• Complete work orders and enter data into CMMS (SAP) daily.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and SAP (CMMS) schedules.
• Report downtime concerns to the Lead Technician.
• Submit parts and tool requirements through inventory systems.
• Assist in managing overall shift performance and communicate work assignments.

• Ability to operate industrial equipment such as cranes and forklifts.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and simple schematics.
• Experience in lean manufacturing (4Q, JIDOKA, 6S) is a plus.
