Job summary

Hitachi Energy seeks an Operations Support Technician to help ensure manufacturing and service operations run smoothly and efficiently. This hands-on role supports compliance with regulations, data entry into SAP CMMS, and continuous improvement initiatives within a dynamic team.

You will monitor performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory, assist in lean activities, and participate in safety and efficiency improvements on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, and/or fabrication tasks.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with SAP.
• HVAC and welding experience preferred.
• Ability to operate industrial equipment such as cranes and forklifts.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and simple schematics.
• Experience in lean manufacturing (4Q, JIDOKA, 6S) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
• Monitor and improve performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory goals.
• Promote and participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
• Complete work orders and enter data into CMMS (SAP) daily.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and SAP (CMMS) schedules.
• Report downtime concerns to the Lead Technician.
• Submit parts and tool requirements through inventory systems.
• Assist in managing overall shift performance and communicate work assignments.
