Job summary

RTCA in Rockford, MI is seeking a Machinist I-III to produce precision aerospace components. You’ll perform machine setups, read engineering drawings, select tooling, and load programs to ensure parts meet quality specs.

This role requires hands-on work on multiple machines, strong math and measurement skills, and close collaboration with Quality and Engineering teams. Weekend shift Friday–Sunday 5am–5:30pm with a $3/hr differential offers a stable, hands-on environment in a safety-conscious

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC or manual machining equipment in manufacturing.
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements.
• Experience using micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges.
• Strong machining fundamentals, tooling, feeds, speeds, and offsets.
• Mechanical aptitude with attention to quality and detail.
• Troubleshoot basic machining and production issues.
• Strong math, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up multiple machines on a full-time onsite role.
• Read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, travelers, drawings.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify conformance.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Operations to meet goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
