Banner Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming seeks a Senior Surgical Technologist to support operating room procedures with two specialties. You will scrub, pass instruments, and assist the surgeon throughout cases. A 36-hour week includes three 12-hour shifts, with weekend coverage and a 30% weekend differential.

The role emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and the training of staff and students, with BLS certification and proficiency across multiple surgical disciplines required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and current BLS certification.
• Certified as a surgical technologist or have 2–3 years of experience in a scrub role.
• Must scrub proficiently on a minimum of two surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgical procedures by pulling instruments and supplies and verifying equipment.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs; pass instruments and retract tissue.
• Maintain aseptic technique and manage sharps, counts, and waste.
• Ensure surgeon preference cards and pick lists are accurate.
• Assist with OR turnover, stocking supplies, and room cleaning.
• Participate in training and orientation of staff and students.
• Provide possible administrative support to the department as assigned.
• Follow safety protocols, incident reporting, and radiology safety requirements.
