Job summary

Mountainside Treatment Center is seeking a part-time Security Guard in Canaan, CT to provide a safe environment for staff, clients, visitors and vendors. You will monitor facilities and respond to incidents during Saturday and Sunday shifts.

The role includes assisting new admissions, performing BAC/tox tests when required, and coordinating with local emergency services as needed. A commitment to recovery and best-in-class service is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record is required.
• Previous security or first responder experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of the recovery process is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure security and safety of clients, staff, and facilities on shift.
• Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.
• Perform interior/exterior security inspections and document findings.
• Search persons, bags, rooms, and vehicles per guidelines when required.
• Greet admissions and transporters, explain policies.
• Conduct BAC and tox tests with new admissions when required.
• Assist admissions with luggage and items.
• Complete intake procedures for arriving admits when required.
• Coordinate with Ambulance/Police/Fire when needed.
• Record behavioral issues, thefts, unsafe conditions; file reports.
• Run shift and incident reports; maintain logs.
• Assist badges coordination and vehicle safety checks.
