Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for a facility located in Wayne, NJ. The role focuses on maintaining a secure environment, patrolling the site, and deterring hazards to ensure safety.

Starting salary is $16.75 per hour with weekend shifts (Sat & Sun 7:00AM - 3:00PM and 3:00PM - 11:00PM). The position requires at least 1 year of security experience, a high school diploma or 5 years verifiable experience, and completion of required background checks.

Qualifications

• Background investigation required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Age requirements: 18+ for unarmed, 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years verifiable experience.
• Licensing requirements may apply per state/local laws; driver’s license required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity.
• Patrol on foot, bicycle, or via a vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals.
• Orally and physically de-escalating individuals, as needed.
• Inspect all security devices and fire control equipment.
• Screen members, visitors, and client employees to expedite their admittance to the facility.
• Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, or inclement weather with calm urgency.
• May also include patient escort, patient watch, provide safety escort, assist and/or transport deceased to morgue
