Job summary

Pratt & Whitney at our Columbus Engine Center is seeking a Mechanic to overhaul, repair, and assemble advanced jet engines for commercial and military use. You will work in a hands-on, team‑driven environment to restore engines to peak performance, safety, and reliability.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of relevant experience. The position is onsite with a weekend schedule (Fri–Sun, 6:30am–7:00pm).

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. is required or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant maintenance experience in aerospace or similar field.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data.
  • Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble/disassembly and test a jet engine.
  • Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructions, comply with required self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.

What You Will Do

Join Pratt & Whitney at our Columbus Engine Center, where precision meets purpose. As a Mechanic, you’ll play a critical role in the overhaul, repair, and assembly of advanced jet engines that power commercial and military aircraft around the world. Working in a hands‑on, team‑driven environment, you’ll apply your mechanical expertise to ensure engines are restored to peak performance, safety, and reliability.

This is a Weekend Shift position: Friday – Sunday 6:30am – 7:00 pm
Responsibilities

Qualifications You Must Have
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Aviation engine overhaul and repair experience
  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or Powerplant (P) Certificate
  • Hands‑on experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Disassembly, Inspection, Assembly, or Turbine Engine Test Operations.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications and SAP

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
