Job summary

Prattwhitney in Midland, Texas seeks an Aircraft Mechanic to maintain engines to meet FAA standards. Duties include engine disassembly and assembly, cleaning components, and conducting inspections. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and preferably an A&P License or relevant experience.

What You Will Do

An aircraft mechanic maintains the engines of aircrafts to meet FAA standards. This job involves tasks such as performing routine checks and repairs, keeping records of inventory, and identifying faults with components of the plane.

Responsibilities

• Engine disassembly/assembly – Perform mechanic duties to disassemble and assemble engines, engine modules and accessories.
• Clean – Perform cleaning of engine parts and components.
• Perform visual checks to assess minimal part condition for continued use where applicable.
• Understand the basic inspection techniques as part of a career development path.
• Demonstrate commitment to the EH&S and continuous improvement programs by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities.
• Ability to manage tools and tooling to ensure serviceability before and after use and process appropriately when issues arise.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
• Preferred: A&P License or two years aviation, aerospace and/or previous mechanical experience.
• Turbine engine overhaul and repair experience preferred in one or more of the following disciplines: disassembly, assembly.
• Experience with SAP.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
