Job summary

Kraft Heinz in Cedar Rapids is hiring a Sanitation Tech to keep production areas clean and sanitary according to OSHA. The role covers the spice room, prep rooms, blanch room, cook areas, filler areas, dumpster surroundings, and trash pickup along the path to and from dumpsters.

This position requires pre-wash, wash, sanitize procedures; ability to work in hot and cold environments; and adherence to food safety policies.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of chemicals used on equipment and sanitizing steps.
• Ability to work under stress and in extremes of hot/cold.
• Adherence to food safety policies and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and with others.

Responsibilities

• Pre-wash, wash, sanitize, post wash equipment as needed.
• Clean equipment in parts carts using COP Tank.
• Inspect parts carts to ensure correct location.
• Empty trash cans and keep production areas debris-free; dry floors.
• Wash pallets and inspect drains for full baskets.
• Conduct titration to determine chemical concentration.
• MSS scheduled cleanings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Overview:

The primary responsibility is to keep the production areas clean and sanitary as regulated by OSHA. This includes the spice room, prep rooms, blanch room, cook areas, filler areas, trash compactor area, and areas around dumpsters. General pick up along the path to and from dumpster.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Pre-wash, wash, sanitize, post wash equipment as needed
• Clean all equipment in parts carts utilizing COP Tank
• Inspect parts carts to ensure all parts are in correct location
• Empty trash cans through designated areas and keep all areas free from debris; dry pick of floors in production areas as needed
• Wash pallets
• Inspect drains to remove full baskets and ensure the baskets are replaced properly
• Conduct titration to determine chemical concentration of COP wash solutions
• MSS scheduled cleanings
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must be detail-oriented and possess good organizational skills
• Understand the use and types of chemicals allowed on each piece of equipment
• Understand instructions, sanitizing steps, inspecting for cleanliness
• Pre-rinse, wash, post, and sanitize procedures
• Understand microorganisms such as bacteria, yeast, mold, protozoa, and viruses
• Must have basic knowledge in equipment care and maintenance
• Must be able to perform well under stress
• Working conditions include extremes of hot and cold temperatures
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to work independently and with others
• Responsible for following all food safety policies and safety procedures
• Responsible for Q-RMP standards implementation as defined by the accountability list document
