Job summary

Avride is hiring an entry-level Robot Service Technician Assistant to support deployment of autonomous delivery robots. This part-time, weekend-based role offers hands-on opportunities to learn maintenance, operations, and preparation of our robot fleet across campuses in the U.S.

You will help ensure robots are ready for deployment and gain foundational electro-mechanical assembly skills. Shifts cover weekends with roughly 16 hours per weekend, typically 8 hours per day, with morning/afternoon

Qualifications

• Ability to work in varied field environments.
• Ability to lift and move items over 50 pounds safely.
• Strong attention to detail and a logical approach to problem-solving.
• Team-oriented mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare robots for the shift: Ensure all hardware and software are ready for daily deployment.
• Put robots/batteries on chargers for the night: Manage power cycles to ensure maximum fleet readiness.
• Clean robots: Maintain physical appearance and protect sensitive external hardware.
• Perform mechanical repairs: Assist with and execute basic repairs on the robot fleet.
• Perform service campaigns: Help implement widespread hardware or software updates across the fleet.
• Assist remote support coordinators: Act as the hands-on field contact for the remote tracking team.
• Perform calibrations and wheel alignment: Ensure sensors and chassis components are properly tuned for safe navigation.
• Keep workshop clean and tidy: Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient workspace for the entire technical team.
