Job summary

Shalom Gardens Health and Rehabilitation in Richmond, VA is seeking an experienced RN Weekend Nursing Supervisor for a part-time, every-other-weekend role. You will lead the nursing team, supervise resident care, and ensure quality outcomes during weekend shifts.

You'll coordinate staffing, support clinical decisions, maintain regulatory compliance, and collaborate with physicians and the care team to uphold a resident-centered approach to care.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license required.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound clinical decisions in high‑pressure situations.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing skilled nursing and long‑term care facilities.
• Ability to supervise nursing staff and coordinate resident care.
• Availability to work every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise nursing staff while fostering a positive team environment.
• Oversee resident care to ensure safe, compassionate, individualized care.
• Coordinate daily nursing operations and staffing for assigned weekends.
• Provide clinical leadership, assist with assessments and changes in resident conditions.
• Respond to emergencies with clinical guidance and appropriate interventions.
• Promote regulatory compliance with applicable regulations and facility policies.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments and incidents.
• Support quality improvement and safety initiatives.
• Lead by example with resident-centered care.
