Job summary

Briarcliff Health Center is seeking a Weekend Nursing Supervisor to oversee Nursing Services on weekends and provide direct care to residents in our long-term care facility.

The role requires a Nursing Degree or RN program, 3+ years nursing in long-term care, 2+ years supervisory experience, and compliance with Texas regulations; strong computer skills and ability to coordinate with the DON/ADON are essential.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree or RN program from an accredited institution.
• At least 3 years of nursing experience in long-term care.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day nursing activities for weekend shift.
• Provide direct nursing care to residents.
• Ensure compliance with governing standards and guidelines.
• Make written/oral reports as required.
• Coordinate with resident services to maintain total care.
• Explain policies to staff, residents, visitors, and agencies.
• Clear criminal background check and be in good standing with Texas Misconduct Registry; not on OIG list.

Job DescriptionThe purpose of your job position is to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by the Nursing Services staff on weekends, and provide direct nursing care to the residents, in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing Services (DON) or Assistant Director of Nursing Services (ADON) to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.Specific RequirementsOversee the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Services staff assigned to you, and ensure their performance is aligned in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.Ensure the staff complies with the procedures set forth in the Nursing Services Procedures Manual.Ensure that staff performs the functions outlined in their respective job descriptions.Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of your shift as required.Cooperate with other resident services when coordinating nursing services to ensure that the resident’s total regimen of care is maintained.Interpret the department’s policies and procedures to the staff assigned to you, residents, visitors, and government agencies as required.Must clear the criminal background check, be in good standing with the Texas Misconduct Registry, and must not appear on the Office of Inspector General’s (OIG) List of Excluded Individuals/Entities.Other duties as assigned.EducationMust possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved RN program.ExperienceAt least three (3) years of nursing experience in long-term care is required.
