Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a weekend-night nurse for the Staffing Response Team in Raleigh, NC. The role is 0.9 FTE with a 12-hour Friday–Sunday schedule and weekend-night shift, onsite at UNC Rex facilities.

Eligible for up to $20,000 incentive, up to $25,000 tuition loan forgiveness, and relocation assistance up to $10,000, plus our referral program. New team members will float between UNC Rex Raleigh and UNC Rex Holly Springs campuses, with possible cross-training after six months based on

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years of employment and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• One (1) year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Education: identify and meet learning needs of self; participate in education programs and use patient education materials.
• Evaluation of Care: identify expected patient outcomes and discuss with interdisciplinary team to revise the plan of care.
• Implementation: demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems and prioritize care.
• Leadership: develop goals to promote professional growth and participate in unit goals and performance improvement.
• Patient Assessment: recognize data to determine priorities and plan care.
• Planning: collaborate with patient/family to update the plan of care and address cultural issues.
• Research: read journals and bring ideas for assessment of applicability.
