Job summary

HSHS Medical Group is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for weekend coverage at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. The role involves two 12-hour shifts: Saturday 07:00–19:00 and Sunday 11:00–23:00, with on-site duties in General OR.

Applicants must graduate from an accredited nursing program, be eligible for RN licensure in Illinois, hold BLS certification, and have healthcare experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program and eligible for licensure in the state of practice.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in state of practice is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Experience in healthcare is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and physical/psychological support to patients and families.
• Perform the nursing process in collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
• Educate patients and families on condition, medications, and self-care skills.
• Supervise assigned team members and coordinate care across shifts.
• Promote patient independence by setting care goals and teaching self-care.
