Job summary

Kindred Hospital Indianapolis, part of ScionHealth, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive patient care on weekends and provide coordination with the care team.

This role requires nursing licensure, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to collaborate with physicians and staff to develop and implement care plans. You will participate in discharge planning and patient education to support recovery.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary nursing program graduation is required (RN).
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Registered Nurse license required upon hire; Basic Life Support (BCLS) required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process.
• Develops and updates nursing care plans in coordination with patient, family and interdisciplinary staff.
• Communicates changes in patient condition with physicians, supervisor, and team.
• Participates in discharge planning and ensures safe patient transitions.
• Administers medications following the five rights of medication administration.
• Documents patient assessments, care plans, and interventions per policy.
• Educates patient and family on pain management and care needs.
• Assists physicians with examinations, treatments and procedures.
• Maintains professional interactions with patients and families and coordinates with other departments.
