Job summary

Glengariff Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Port Washington, NY seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join a skilled nursing team. The RT will perform assessments, initiate therapies, maintain records, and participate in IDT meetings, with emphasis on geriatric care and independent practice.

Candidates must be a graduate of COARC-accredited AS or BS Respiratory program and licensed as RRT or CRT in the practicing state, with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain or rehab patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility.
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Performs related duties as required.
