Job summary

Glengariff Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Locust Valley, NY is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our skilled nursing team. The RT will evaluate and treat geriatric residents independently, provide bedside care, and ensure accurate documentation and therapy initiation.

The ideal candidate holds a COARC-accredited AS or BS in Respiratory Therapy and an active RRT or CRT license, with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments and complete in-services for nursing staff.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings and manage documentation.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care settings.
• Follow facility procedures and track caseloads.
