Job summary

The Grove at Valhalla Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our geriatrics-focused team in a Skilled Nursing facility. The ideal candidate has a state license and can evaluate and treat independently, with weekend coverage and a passion for improving residents’ experiences.

Responsibilities include initiating therapies, documenting care, and participating in IDT meetings. Tracheotomy experience and long-term care background are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program; licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with respiratory illnesses/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete bedside treatments and in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy; long-term care setting experience.
