Job summary

The Grove at Valhalla Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join a dynamic team in a skilled nursing setting. The candidate should be licensed to practice, able to evaluate and treat independently, and dedicated to improving residents’ experiences through functional therapies.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, starting therapies, maintaining records, and performing bedside treatments.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT in the practicing state.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to rehab patients with various illnesses/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in long-term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Performs tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Performs related duties as required.
