Job summary

Glengariff Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in New York is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our Skilled Nursing team. The RT will evaluate and treat residents, perform bedside therapies, document care, and participate in IDT meetings, with a focus on geriatric respiratory care.

This role requires an COARC-accredited AS or BS in Respiratory Therapy, and active licensure as RRT or CRT in New York. Weekend coverage is required; salary ranges from $45 to $55 per hour.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required
