Job summary

Glengariff Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Roslyn, NY is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. The RT will assess and treat geriatric residents, initiate therapies, maintain records, operate equipment, and participate in IDT meetings with a focus on quality patient care.

The ideal candidate holds COARC-accredited AS or BS in Respiratory Therapy, is licensed as RRT or CRT in New York, and has current BLS certification; weekend coverage is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to rehab patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments.
• Provide in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures; completes tracking, auditing and caseload management.
