Job summary

Glengariff Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Herricks, NY is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our geriatric-focused team. The RT will assess and treat patients independently, perform bedside therapies, and participate in IDT meetings in a skilled nursing setting.

Candidates must hold an active state license (RRT or CRT), COARC-accredited degree, and BLS certification; prior LTC experience is a plus. Weekend coverage with consistent Saturday and Sunday shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques for rehabilitation.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments and document daily activities.
• Attend IDT meetings and ensure compliance with facility procedures.
• Manage caseload, tracking and audits as required.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care settings.
