Job summary

Glengariff Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in New York is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our geriatric care team. The RT will evaluate and treat residents, initiate therapies, maintain accurate patient records, operate and check respiratory equipment, and provide bedside care with minimal supervision.

Qualifications include graduation from a COARC-accredited AS or BS Respiratory program and licensure as an RRT or CRT, plus BLS certification.

• BLS certification and licensure in the practicing state.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments and implement respiratory techniques for diverse illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments and participate in patient care rounds.
• Provide in-services and educate nursing staff quarterly.
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly documentation; attend IDT meetings.
• Handle tracheotomy care and long-term care experience.
