Job summary

Glengariff Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Locust Valley, NY is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join a dynamic geriatrics team. The RT will assess and treat residents, initiate therapies, manage equipment, and document care with limited supervision.

Candidates must graduate from a COARC-accredited respiratory program, hold an active RRT or CRT license, and maintain BLS certification. Prior long-term care experience and weekend coverage are valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT in the practicing state.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to rehab patients with various illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Perform bedside respiratory treatments.
• Attend in-services for nursing staff quarterly.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Participate in IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care settings.
